Michel Khleifi
Michel Khleifi (b. 1950) is a Palestinian filmmaker from Nazareth. Khleifi is considered one of the most important filmmakers in Palestinian cinema history. In 1970, he moved to Belgium where he studied TV and theatre direction at the Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle (INSAS). He began as a documentary filmmaker with the documentaries Fertile Memories (1980) and Destruction (1985), before making his first feature film, Wedding in Galilee (1987).
